A business card is an information device that let's you transmit frequently used data to other people. Typically you'll exchange business cards with potential clients at conferences, meetings, and casual get-together's. It's a way to say "Here's my information already printed on this little handy card, so you don't have to take the time to write it down.

We've always believed in the concept of maximizing the results of everything we do. So we knew we had to go over the top with out business card. It was so much more than a business card with our name, address, phone and email on it. It could be our little advertising billboard that echoed our primary advantage and value proposition to all our clients.

We wanted our business card to present our image as a professional service web design and development firm. So we set out to create a business card / mini billboard advertisement with impact. How could we do that?
We knew the card had to look ultra professional in terms of design and printing quality. For the design portion, we consulted various websites that featured articles on the importance of the layout of a business card. In doing so, we came to realize that in order to use the minimum amount of space available on a 3" by 2" business card, our message had to be succinct and focused.

Design Principles
One of our favorite websites for layout of a business card was the http://www.fengshuibusinesscard.com website. At first we thought it was a joke, feng shui principles applied to a business card? However, as we started reading the various pages, it turned out that it had some very interesting ideas that actually made sense. After consulting with the website owner, we were able to clean up our business card and make it look a lot better in terms of color choice and balance.

Printing Options
We knew we wanted a card that had a high quality output that conveyed our professional level of service. We tried to get a glossy card printed from our local printer's office, but they couldn't supply a paper stock with a thick enough weight nor glossy sheen. It also turned out that they outsourced the work to another firm in a different city. So much for trying to keep the money local...

Quality from the Internet
Next we searched the Internet to find a good source for printing. We tried the big name places like Vista Print, but we were afraid their high volume business model would result in a mass produced quality, something that would hurt our image. We made our decision after receiving a printed sample from http://www.aaa-full-color-business-cards.com. It was a thick 14 pt heavy weight card stock with a super glossy coating that looked and felt professional. And the price was good, but we were even more impressed with the super service after the sale. That is why we are recommending them here on our website. Results
What is most important is the new business we have earned as a result of our hard work, but these super nice business cards made it easier to get in the door and get ourselves noticed and remembered, which is almost half the battle in today's sales weary society.
