Outlook Express for Mac

This information fixes a bug in Outlook Express for Mac when setting up for SMTP authentication.

1. Under Tools menu, click on Accounts.

2. In the Accounts window, double-click on your account.
3. Select click here for advanced sending options in italics at the bottom of the screen.

4. Check SMTP server requires authentication.
5. Check Log on using and fill in your account ID and Password. The trick is to use "&" instead of "@" between the account ID (username) and the domain name. You must do this for each of your Accounts that send mail using our server SMTP service. This fix has been tested using our IMail servers, and it works for both for OS8.6 and OS9.1 when using Outlook Express 5.02. Microsoft Entourage that comes with Office 2001 does not have an authentication bug.
